I miss you.

If you could see it, you’d probably tell me that I shouldn’t have posted it because we’re sort of kissing, and I know how you feel about PDA.

But it’s all I got going till you get back.

Well, that and some Starbucks Decaf Venti Sugar Free Vanilla Fat Free No Foam Latte.

Do you remember my refusal to call my drinks ‘Venti’ – because it means twenty in Italian, and I felt too silly saying it, even though I know there are twenty ounces in the cup?

I’ve halfway capitulated, and I now mumble under my breath “ven…..” hoping they’ll catch on.

I haven’t taken the next step yet, enunciating the entire word, so if they ask me which size again, I say “the largest one, or the twenty ounce one”.

It’s silly, but it’s just one of those being Italian things that I can’t get over. In Italian it just wouldn’t make any sense to say it.

Plus in the land of food, love and coffee we have the small espresso cups and cappuccino mugs (which would be considered minuscule in the US!) and it’s only one size.

But I’m not having that many lattes, just every other day and only in extreme circumstances, when my car breaks, when I don’t have internet or when the kids are sick.

Although, no amount of latte comes even close to having you back, and I’d trade all of the ventis in a second to see you right now.
