I can totally relate. My hair has gotten so gray this year for some reason (stress?), that I recently went on Twitter to ask my friends if I should color it before attending BlogHer. Luckily, being a man, they gave me a pass and said that it would look "distinguished." I'm still not sure whether to believe them.

Greying of hair is melanin production inhibition in the root of the hair. Not only adults, even children of eight years also face this problem of greying of hair. It may be due to genetic predisposition or many are exposed to second hand smoke, low haemoglobin. Children suffering from blood cancer, HIV, thyroid, undergoing chemotherapy, who has vitamin B12 deficiency, experience hair greying.

BlogHer led me here. I am one of the I Int'l activists you will be panellling [if there is a word like that].

I was relieved as ti how your 3-yr-old daughter was found.
If you dont mind me saying, I have met some white women with beautiful gray hair and if you leave yours to grow, you may end up liking it but then you can change your look once in a while that way you wont be bothered about visiting the salon on the time.

I've been doing the dye at home thing since 8th grade. Yes, 8th grade! I was 14 when I started getting noticeable gray in my hair. Thanks Dad. The hardest part is carving out about an hour to do it, and then cleaning up the bathroom after. For now I stick to a color as close to my roots as possible in case I don't get to touching it up right away. Although there could be something to your stress theory.

I refuse to dye mine. I earned every stinking strand of white, lots of it is deployment 1,2, & 3 (plus the big streak is from the kid's deployment) But you could be like my mom. I have her hair colour, dark brown. She, however, is NOW a strawberry blonde... hm..
